چکیده

Abstract Aim Coronary artery bypass graft surgery remains an effective treatment strategy for complex coronary disease. There paucity of data regarding the use bilateral radial conduits with wound, neurological and functional complications following surgical revascularisation. Method We reviewed outcomes retrospective analysis prospectively collected clinical from our database identified 30 patients who underwent CABG requiring harvest.Patient satisfaction was assessed using a quality life questionnaire descriptors on Likert Scale. Results The mean duration follow-up 29.8 ± 8.5 months. The age 69.0 10.8 years. The commonest indications harvest were existing varicose veins or previous vein (combined 74% cases) precluding venous conduit use. Three out 24 (12.5%) reported arm pain discomfort ‘rarely’ ‘sometimes’ whilst all others (87.5%) asymptomatic.Three long term permanent sensory deficit further six (25%) having some other less significant loss. Significant motor dysfunction in one patient (4.2%) 5 (20.8%) milder forms deficit. 95.8% considered aesthetic outcome site appearance to be at least acceptable (54.1% rated as excellent). One ‘moderate’ change otherwise, remaining ‘minimal’(12.5%) ‘no change’ (83%). Conclusions Open is choice when alternatives are not favourable

Short-term clinical outcomes and mortality of coronary endarterectomy in the right coronary artery: A single-center experience

Introduction: Coronary endarterectomy is not a perfect procedure. However, it is sometimes the only available alternative for cardiac surgeons in patients suffering from diffuse coronary artery disease. According to a large volume of studies, coronary endarterectomy results (such as survival, recurrence of the symptoms of myocardial ischemia, and graft patency) are not as satisfactory as standa...

"Instant vision" compared with postoperative patching: clinical evaluation and patient satisfaction after bilateral cataract surgery.

PURPOSE To compare two methods of postoperative dressing regimen: patching vs "instant vision" without patch. DESIGN Prospective randomized clinical trial. METHODS Sixty consecutive hospitalized, nonambulatory patients with cataract surgery under topical anesthesia on both eyes at different days were enrolled prospectively. In randomized order, one eye was patched for the first 24 hours pos...

Coronary artery bypass grafting using the radial artery: clinical outcomes, patency, and need for reintervention.

BACKGROUND Radial artery (RA) grafts are an attractive second arterial conduit after the left internal thoracic artery (LITA) for coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery. However, long-term outcomes and the need for subsequent reintervention have not been defined. METHODS AND RESULTS We performed a retrospective cohort study of our single institution's 16-year experience with 1851 consecu...

Radial artery 2000--risk analysis of mortality for coronary bypass surgery with radial artery.

BACKGROUND The aim of this study is to review our experience with using more than 2,000 RAs over the last seven years, and to assess the medium-term outcome in terms of morbidity and mortality. METHODS Between June 1994 and June 2001, a total of 2,024 RAs have been used in 1,613 patients. The mean duration of follow-up was 40.1 months and ranged from one to 88 months. We assessed the results ...

Introduction: Cardiovascular diseases, especially coronary artery disease, is one of the leading causes of death worldwide. Accordingly, the present study aimed to compare the effects of continuous and interval aerobic training on brachial artery diameter and endothelial function in coronary artery bypass graft patients.
